Context: Compiled during Dr. Oldfield's tenure as British Residency Surgeon (1850–1863), this fine-line version serves as a detailed topographical layout of the Kathmandu Valley basin.

Description: The map uses detailed graphite hachuring to depict the surrounding mountain amphitheater. The three historic cities—Kathmandu ("Catmandoo"), Patan ("Pattun"), and Bhaktapur ("Bhatgong")—are highlighted with red wash. Precise blue ink lines trace the Bagmati and Vishnumati river networks, while fine lines mark routes radiating to key temples ("Boodhnauth", "Changoo Narayan") and mountain passes ("To Banepa").
